Habitat: Large granite inselberg: base with dense Acacia bushland; crevices and deeper soil pockets with Steganotaenia very common, Commiphora, Ficus, Vepris eugeniifolia common; more level rock surface with turf of sedges & Xerophyta pumila, Trichoneura grandiglumis frequent; some deep rock pools present. Very common in 'turf' on very shallow soils. Common in crevices and sedge tussocks
Attributes: Seedlings with well-developed napiform taproot but soon åproducing many slender white rhizomes and most collections not showing taproot; stems very glaucous, clearly patterned; cyathial glands dirty greenish yellow to pale brown
